WHY DID YOU ULTIMATELY CHOOSE A CAREER IN CONSTRUCTION?

 

I enjoy working with my hands.  I liked the idea of being able to build and create things for myself and my family.

 

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL YOUNG PEOPLE CONSIDERING POST-SECONDARY CAREER OPTIONS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL?  WHAT WOULD YOU TELL THEM TO CONVINCE THEM TO CONSIDER AN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM?

 

I would tell them to strongly consider a program.  After going to college and graduating, I found that I'm working to pay off school loans rather than putting money in my own pocket.  While in an apprenticeship program, they will pay you to go to school.

 

WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR CAREER PATH IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY?

 

The best decision I've made.  You're active, working outside, learning new skills everyday.  You meet and work with great people and you get paid to do it.
