Family and friends in the trade influenced me.
WHY DID YOU ULTIMATELY CHOOSE A CAREER IN CONSTRUCTION?
Because of the benefits, pay and freedom of doing something exciting.
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL YOUNG PEOPLE CONSIDERING POST-SECONDARY CAREER OPTIONS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL? WHAT WOULD YOU TELL THEM TO CONVINCE THEM TO CONSIDER AN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM?
I would tell them to look at all of the options that are provided to high school graduates. Take the time to talk to other people in different career fields that might be interesting to you. I would tell them to think about the great retirement benefits we receive in this industry and the ability to be able to live a sucessful and happy lifestyle.
WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELL US ABOUT YOUR CAREER PATH IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY?
I think this is one of the best things that could have happened to me. I like the feeling of gratitude I get after I finish a job and seeing how that machine works and how important that machine is to our everyday life.
